Supply Act, 2025-2026

Appropriates $82.1 billion for the public service and $1.56 billion for financing transactions for the year ending March 31, 2026.

A Supply Act is the law that lets the government spend the money in its budget. The estimates tabled with the budget list planned spending by vote, one for each ministry or office, and the Committee of Supply reviews them; the final Supply Act then authorizes the whole amount in one bill, which the House passes without debate or amendment. This one covers the fiscal year from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026: $82.15 billion of operating votes, the largest being Health at $35.0 billion, Education and Child Care at $9.8 billion and Social Development and Poverty Reduction at $5.7 billion, plus $1.56 billion for capital spending and loans.
