BC election dates

Nominations, advance voting and Final Voting Day all count from the day an election is called.

    The election is called

    The Premier can ask for an election to be called early. Final Voting Day then falls 32 to 38 days later, or 28 days where the Constitution Act sets a new date.

    Offices open

    District electoral offices open and vote-by-mail packages can be requested at Elections BC. Registration is open year round.

  3. Day71 p.m.

    Nominations close

    Elections BC posts the official candidate list for every riding.

  4. 6days before

    Advance voting begins

    Six days in all, at any advance voting place in the province.

  5. FinalVoting Day

    Vote anywhere in BC

    Any voting place, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mail packages must reach Elections BC by 8 p.m.
