Motion 38
A motion under which the House condemns views held by the Association for Reformed Political Action on transgender people, homosexuality and abortion access.
Motion 38 was a private member's motion, taken on October 6, 2025. The Association for Reformed Political Action, ARPA Canada, calls itself a grassroots Christian political advocacy organization; it was founded in 2007, is registered federally as a non-profit and not a charity, has its main offices in southern BC and Ottawa, and runs the We Need a Law campaign on abortion. The motion asked the House to record that it condemns views it attributes to ARPA: discrimination against transgender people, describing homosexuality as immoral, and a stated aim of restricting abortion access in British Columbia. A motion of this kind states the House's opinion and changes no law.
