Register to vote in BC

Registration is open year round and is not a condition of voting: you can register at the voting place with ID when you vote. Registering ahead puts a in your mailbox once an election is called.

  1. Online

    The online voter registration app registers you or updates your address. Elections BC keeps its own list, separate from the federal one, and shares it with Elections Canada at least once a year.

  2. By phone

    1-800-661-8683, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  3. By mail, fax or email

    The voter registration form, sent to the address printed on it.

  4. In person

    At Elections BC, 100-1112 Fort Street, Victoria.

Registering when you vote

Show the ID that gets you a ballot and fill in a form at the table; a voter from your riding or a relative can vouch for you instead. A Where to Vote card counts as one of the two documents. What to bring.
